Instyle magazine released the results from its color preference poll in the April 2010 issue.  Participants were asked their favorite gem color and given three choices: Blues & Greens (such as sapphire and emerald), Reds & Purples (like ruby and amethyst), or Yellows & Oranges (like diamonds and topaz). 

The Results:

62% said Blues & Greens

22% said Reds & Purples

and 16% said Yellows & Oranges
