JEWELRY REPAIR
Your fine jewelry is designed to last a lifetime. It is our job to
ensure that it does. Jewelry brought in for service is carefully
reviewed and assessed. A great amount of attention is given to every
piece of jewelry that crosses the jeweler’s workbench at Maertens. Our
jeweler, Heather Maertens has over 30 years of experience in the
jewelry repair industry. Her attention to detail is apparent in the
work that she does. Each item is skillfully repaired, whether the job
is a simple chain repair or a detailed reconstruction. Our quality of
work is sure to exceed your expectations. Every piece of jewelry that
we are entrusted with is treated with care and respect. Don’t forget

WATCH REPAIR
From Timex to Rolex, we are equipped to help you with all of your
watch repair needs. Battery replacements are typically done on a while
you wait basis. Minor watch repairs and adjustments are also done on
site. If the watch is more complex and requires more time, it may be
sent out for repair. Watches may be sent to the original manufacturer
or to our certified watch repair house in Ohio. We will notify you
before proceeding. Watches that are sent out for repair are treated
with extreme care and insured for their replacement value. We will
give you an estimated time frame and cost when your item is brought in
for evaluation.
CUSTOM DESIGN

Whether it is a mother’s ring or an engagement ring, a gift or something for yourself, our staff can offer knowledgeable advice and multiple design capabilities.
When it comes to creating custom jewelry, there are many options. Sometimes, we start with an existing piece of jewelry and make alterations to customize the look. Other times, we start from scratch, usually from a photo or sketch. Custom jewelry can be made either by hand or through a computer aided design and manufacturing process (CAD/CAM). We work in all precious metals, sterling silver, 14k gold, 18k gold and platinum. Regardless of how your piece is made, you can be sure that you will be involved every step of the way and we won’t rest until its “perfect”.

APPRAISALS
Our jewelry appraisals are prepared by Shari Mesh, a
Graduate Gemologist
of the Gemological Institute of America and
Certified Gemologist
of the American Gem Society. Shari has been in the jewelry industry
for over 20 years, working primarily in Maryland and Virginia. She
meets with clients at Maertens once a month by appointment only to
provide jewelry appraisals for insurance replacement and estate
valuation. All appraisals are thorough and include detailed
information along with a photograph of the piece. Give us a call for
more information or to reserve your time. Maertens also provides all
of the necessary paperwork for your new purchases to be added to your
insurance policy. Need something more thorough? Just ask!
ENGRAVING
Want to take your jewelry from treasured heirloom to one-of-a-kind
work of art? Hand engraving may be just what you’re looking for!
Unlike most jewelers who only offer machine engraving, Maertens Fine
Jewelry & Gifts also offers hand engraving. Heather Maertens is
trained in this lost art and can create unique designs to accent
jewelry, silverware, flatware and more. Hand engraving can go where
machines can't reach and do it in a way that is as personal as it is
beautiful. We also offer machine engraving for watches, plaques and
other commemorative items.
